pornographicus:

I might have to take back what I wrote earlier tonight about Yahoo and Tumblr.

For those unaware, the reaction to Yahoo’s redesign of Flickr in that service’s official forum was probably as close to 100-percent negative as possible. While on Twitter tonight, I noticed that “the new flickr” was trending (at least in Los Angeles). I took a look at it expecting to see some funny comments on how badly people hate the redesign. What I saw was as much of a love-fest under this Twitter topic as there was a hate-fest in the forum.

However, as I scrolled through the tweets, I noticed a lot of similarities in their wording and overall content. Then, I found the section of tweets shown above…and those links do all go to the legitimate, complimentary story at Time’s website.

Is Yahoo not only buying friends like Mitt Romney did on Twitter in 2012 but also getting them to tweet that the new Flickr is great in order to counter the overwhelming grief they have taken for the redesign on their forum, here on Tumblr, and elsewhere? Make your own conclusions but, to me, it sure looks like Marissa Mayer still had a few dollars in her purse and spent it on what I call a “bot trend.” If that is indeed the case, we can throw out any trust we have in Yahoo no matter what David Karp says or does. I just hope some journalist noticed this and follows up on it as, of course, nobody’s going to pay any real attention to a mere porn blogger on Tumblr.

Today I got a detention for standing up for what I believe in.

  • Teacher:

Write down 3 things you dislike about yourself

  • Me:

    *sits there*

  • Teacher:

    Ciara, why aren't you writing?

  • Me:

I can't do this. I will take a zero, sorry.

  • Teacher:

    Why?

  • Me:

Because I refuse to promote self-hate. Because some people in the world can fill out 20 of these front and back with no blank spaces and this can trigger someone.

  • Teacher:

Ciara, you have to do it or I am sending you to the office.

  • Me:

Okay. *gets up and walks to office*
